Scheduled passenger and cargo airline based in Xi An city which was also called Chang'An (Everlasting Peace) in the past and was the seat of government of several dynasties. Airline was acquired by Hainan Group and merged with Shan Xi and Xinhua airlines to form Grand China Airlines. Airline was relaunched in April 2016 as a joint venture between Shaanxi Province and Hainan Group. On May 9th 2016 flights resumed using Air Changan brand. In December 2021 Liaoning Fangda Group acquired controlling interest in Hainan Group effectively becoming parent company of Air Changan. CGN operates largely hub and spoke airline system throughout China from its base.
