Air charter service, ambulance flights and scheduled passenger flights from its base at Akureyri. Company was founded by former employees of Flugfelag Islands after its parent company Icelandair decided to sell its Akureyri based subsidiary. Company adopted name Norlandair which was previously used by another company founded in 1974 in Akureyri. In 1997 Icelandair combined its domestic operations with that of Flugfelag Nordulands to form Flugfelag Islands.
Norlandair operates scheduled flights from Akureyri (AEY) to three domestic destinations: Þórshöfn (THO), Vopnafjörður (VPN) , Grímsey (GRY) and Nerlerit Inaat/Constable Point (CNP) on the East coast of Greenland.
