Founded by Harold Bellomy and Charles Lawson who both worked for L.B. Smith Aircraft Corp. Company started business converting military aircraft to civil use. In 1963 company started to offer flight services. Challenge Aerospace Technology was the aircraft conversion subsidiary. They specialized in DC-6 cargo conversions and also offered aircraft maintenance. Challenge Air Transport was a cargo airline subsidiary which operated throughout the Caribbean. Aerial Transit Co. was formed in 1983 and operated cargo flights.
