Fist commercial air mail service in the USA. Founded by William T Varney to carry US mail, Varney Air Lines made its maiden flight on April 6th 1926 between Pasco, Washington and Elko, Nevada. Airline later offered passenger flights and established Salt Lake City - Portland and Salt Lake City Seattle routes. Varney was purchased by United Air Lines holdings and merged to Boeing Air Transport which eventually became United Air Lines in May 1934.
