First passanger commercial airline in the USA. Stout started operations between Detroit Ford airport and Grand Rapids Michigan using Ford aircraft. Stout expanded its network to Chicago and Cleveland by 1930. It was purchased by United Air Lines holdings in 1930 and its service was incorporated into UAL through its East Coast subsidiary NAT National Air Transport which eventually became United Air Lines.
