Scheduled and ad hoc contract air cargo carrier founded by Conrad Kalitta who previously founded Connie Air Service later American International Airways and sold company to Kitty Hawk Group in 1997. After Kitty Hawk International declared bankruptcy in 2000, Conrad Kalitta founded Kalitta Air to continue his lifes work. Operations began in November 2000. Kalitta Air operates worldwide and has contract with USPS to carry military mail to Iraq and Afghanistan.
