note
Founded in Mountain Village by Mike Hageland who was US Army flight engineer. Operations commenced in September 1981 using Cessna 180 as air taxi and charter service.
In 1982, Hageland added a C-207 to its operations as well as Tom Hawkins as a partner. The following year, Hageland Aviation Services became a corporation. Throughout the '80s, the company added more aircraft, more pilots and more routes, including the Aniak, McGrath and Unalakleet regions. Into the 1990s, Hageland acquired a certificate to transport mail and built hangars in Bethel, St. Mary's and Kotzebue.
Airline moved its headquarters to former Reeve Aleutian Airways facility near Anchorage International Airport. Cessna 208 Caravans now form backbone of its fleet along with Beech 1900C which are used on higher density routes.
Frontier Flying Service and Hageland combined in 2008 to form the parent holding company HoTH for both companies. The airlines continued to operate separately, but branded services as "Frontier Alaska." The following year, with the acquisition of Era Aviation, the airline was rebranded "Era Alaska".
In 2014, the operations of Hageland Aviation were renamed Ravn Connect. On April 5, 2020 RAVN Group filed for bankruptcy, which resulted in the suspension of operations.
On September 25, 2020, the airline assets were purchased by Active Aero Group, which operates USA Jet, which planned to resume commuter and charter flights. The attempts failed and the company ceased operations
