Started by former Southwest Airlines president Marion Lamar Muse as direct upscale competition to Southwest. Airline offered flights between Love Field and Houston with leather seats, non-smoking flights long before it was required and employed non-union workforce. Unable to turn profit despite over $100 million in revenue, airline was bought out by Southwest Airlines in 1985 and transformed into TransStar Airlines with transcontinental flights which ceased operations in October 1987
