Scheduled inter-island passenger and cargo airline flown its inaugural flight 01/21/03 from San Juan to Tortola using DHC-8 aircraft. Company founded by Yolanda Suarez became subsidy of Stanford Financial Group which also operate Caribbean Star Airlines. Caribbean Sun ceased operations on January 9th 2007.
The company was purchased by Merengue Airlines Dominicana incorporated in Florida on March 13, 2008. Airline was sold again to Tomas Romero and rebranded as World Atlantic Airways and plans to operated MD-80 aircraft on charter basis.
