note

Air Aruba was established as ground handling agent at Queen Beatrix International airport in Aruba. In 1988 Air Aruba commenced its own commercial flight operations using NAMC YS-11 aircraft with technical assistance from KLM initially serving Curacao, Bonaire and Caracas. Airline expanded steadily and when jet aircraft, including long-haul 767, entered fleet its network stretched from Amsterdam and Sao Paulo to Miami, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Maracaibo, St. Maarten and Santo Domingo. In 1998 ASERCA became majority stake holder in, then, financially troubled carrier. Air Aruba filed for bankruptcy in 2000.
