Independent regional founded in 1991 by former Air Europe Express employees upon bankruptcy of its parent company ILG International Leisure Group. Operations commenced in May 1991 using Short 360s as Euroworld Airways. The brand was changed to CityFlyer Express in 1992. Airline became UK launch customer for both ATR 42s and ATR 72s. First were introuded in 1992 and later in 1994. CityFlyer Express became British Airways franchisee and operated as such since June 1993 until 1999 when it was fully acquired by British Airways. BA integrated its operations to its short haul operations in 2001.
