Regional airline fully owned by British Airways. Airline was founded in March 2002 by merger of British Airways Regional and Brymon Airways, both subsidiary of British Airways at the time. Initially British Airways Cityexpress name was used. In 2002 another regional subsidiary of British Airways, Gatwick based CityFlyer Express was integrated into CitiExpress in 2002. Airline operated low cost business model with some exceptions. London City airport were operated as full service. Airline served secondary destinations throughout British Isles and Western Europe. In February 2006 British Airways Connect brand was introduced. In 2007 BA reached an agreement with FlyBe regional airline to sell BA Connect operations to FlyBe with exception of its London City operations in exchange for cash and 15% interest in expanded FlyBe.
