Pee Dee Air Express began operations with charters as well as scheduled cargo services. It received CAB authority January 1983 to provide scheduled passenger services, with an initial route of Florence-Charlotte. It eventually expanded to Atlanta with flights to Florence, New Bern, and Jacksonville (NC). It ceased operations during May, 1985
