Company Gotlandsflyg AB was founded in 2001 by local entrepreneurs operating in the region and Sverigeflyg Holding AB to challenge Skyways monopoly on Gotland island. Airline does not operate its own flights. Braathens Regional and Malmoaviation operate its flights. Airline is one of many virtual airlines owned by Sverigeflyg. Blekingeflyg (Ronneby) founded in 2006, FlySmaland (Växjö) founded in 2007, Kalmarflyg (Kalmar) founded in 2007, Kullaflyg (Angelholm/Helsingborg) founded in 2003 and Sundsvallsflyg (Sundsvall-Härnösand) founded in 2005 are the others. The trunk route Visby - Bromma is operated several times daily. Flights to Malmo and Goteberg are also operated regularly.
