Founded as a long-haul charter airline Air Plus Comet in 1996, Ccommenced operations in March 1997. In January 2007 airline changed name to Air Comet and transformed itself to full service scheduled airline operating to destinations in Central and South America from its base at Madrid as well flights to Paris, London and Rome in Europe. It inherited these routes from defunct Air Madrid. It is owned by Grupo Marsans conglomerate which also owns Air Comet Chile.
