Originally founded as Fairchild Air, it began operating as Sat-Air, providing feeder service to United Parcel Service (Original ICAO: FAE/Package Air). Name changed to Merlin Express in 1988. Some passenger operations were started in 1990s, mainly sub-services for other commuter carriers. Original UPS contract ended in 1996, new operations began for other contractors (DHL). Sold by Fairchild Aerospace to Corporate Air on March 17, 2000. Name changed to Merlin Airways, operated separately.
