Susi Air was founded in late 2004 by Susi Pudjiastuti and Christian von Strombeck to service the local fishing communities of Western Indonesia and enable them to quickly supply lobsters and fresh fish to many markets in Asia. 2 Cessna Caravan were ordered and delivered in late 2004 from the factory. Since early 2006 Susi Air has started to provide scheduled commuter service based in Medan. Susi Air also offers cargo and passenger charters with Cessna Caravan's, Pilatus PC-6s, Piaggio 180s and Agusta helicopters throughout entire Indonesia including Papua. Airline underwent great expansion in 2010, acquiring 10 Cessna 208s and carrying close to 500,000 passengers.
