Low cost subsidiary of India's government owned domestic airline, Indian Airlines. Airline commenced operations in June 1996 using Boeing 737-200s transferred from Indian Airlines. In 2007 Indian Airlines was acquired by a government entity, National Aviation Company of India Ltd, which had also acquired Air India. Indian Airlines operations were merged into Air India, and Alliance In July 2007 Alliance Air was rebranded as Air India Regional, and its operations were eventually converted to regional feeder services for Air India. In October 2021, Air India was acquired by Tata Sons, but Alliance Air was separated from Air India Ltd, and remains under control of the Indian Government.
