LADE - Líneas Aéreas del Estado (English: Airline of the State) is an airline based in Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina. It is a state owned airline operated by the Argentine Air Force and providing domestic scheduled services mainly in Patagonia.
The airline was established in September 1940 and started operations in 1940. It was initially known as Líneas Aéreas Suroeste and consolidated under the present title in 1945 with another air force branch, Líneas Aéreas Noreste.
LADE was until 2006 one of only two airlines in the world to still operate Boeing 707 in passenger service, serving Rio Gallegos and Comodoro Rivadavia from El Palomar Air Force Base, near Buenos Aires.(The other airline is Saha Airlines of Iran, owned by the Iranian Air Force.) The 707 is not used on scheduled passenger services any more. It was used for long routes such as AEP-USH and CRD-USH and USH-BRC.
