Premier manufacturer of general aviation and military aircraft founded by Walter Beech and his wife Ann Mellor Beech in 1932. Company was acquired by Raytheon Corporation in 1993. Raytheon sold its aircraft division in 2006 to a consortium of Goldman Sachs and Onex Corporation which renamed it Hawker Beechcraft. Financial crisis of 2008 left company with heavy debt.
