Airline of Turkish North Cyprus commenced operations in February 1975 between Northern Cyprus and points in Turkey. Airline was established by THY (Turkish national airline) and government of Turkish Cyprus.
In 1981 first international flights to London commenced. Airline received its first wide-body, an Airbus A310, in 1995 from THY.
First Airbus A321 was lesed in July 2004.
Airline operates scheduled passenger flights to Turkey from its base at Ercan International Airport to Frankfurt, Koln, Stuttgart, London (Gatwick, Stansted, Heathrow) and Manchester. KTHY also provides charter services for tour operators from Turkey resorts to Europe.
Airline also provides maintenance and holds JAR-145 Maintenance Authorization for Boeing 737NG aircraft and Airbus A320 family aircraft up to A check. KTHY also provided up until 2005 airport handling service in Nicosia, but this business has been spun off since. KTHY ceased operations in 2010.
