Low cost airline founded by David Miller an airline captain and David J. VanderLugt in Fresno California. Air 21 operated flights from Fresno to Las Vegas, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, San Francisco, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles. Airline was publicly traded since March 1995. It was only second carrier in the world to go paperless and kept all its records including maintenance in electronic form.
Airline ceased operations in 1997 because of declining passenger numbers in wake of negative publicity low cost carriers received following crash of ValuJet DC-9 in Florida due to negligence.
