First wide-body was a DC-10 leased from KLM in 1980 and Ghana eventualy acquired its own in February 1983 which together with Douglas DC-9s became airlines backbone. Traditional long-haul routes were to Rome, Dusseldorf, Zurich and London in Europe and New York in North America, Harrare and Johannesburg in South Africa. Airline also served Baltimore in last 3 years of its existence, but was banned from operating in the USA by FAA in July 2004 because of equipment safety issues. Two months later airline collapsed.
