Scheduled regional airline handling circa 200,000 passengers annually with 200+ employees. Airline was founded in 1980 as Tourismo Aereo. There was another company called Air Panama International that served as flag carrier of the Panama Republic since 1970s. This airline seized operations after US military invasion in 1989. Tourismo Aereo adopted the trade name Air Panama in 2006. The new Air Panama serves dense domestic network catering to tourist industry. San Jose in Costa Rica is served from David and Bocas del Toro. Airline also offers charters and is owned by Parsa SA.
