Scheduled domestic passenger airline founded by state government of Chiapas. First flight was operated in September 1990 using BAe 146 regional jet on Tapachula/Tuxtla - Mexico City routes.
In 1991 Aviacsa received its first Fokker F100 aircraft. Airline also provides ample charter services throughout the Americas. iN 1994 AVIACSA received its first Boeing 727 jet used mainly for charter work. In 1999 AVIACSA switched to Boeing 737-200 aircraft which currently forms backbone of its fleet.
In June 2009, Mexico authorities revoked its operation certificate citing maintenance problems. AVIACSA is in process of apealing of this ruling. AVIACSA has received maintenance approval of FAA in the past. The AOC has been reinstated, but revoked just weeks later on grounds of AVIACSA not paying its ATC fees.
Airline serves domestic network throughout Mexico as well as scheduled flights to Las Vegas, NV. AVIACSA also served Los Angeles, Miami and Houston but withdrew from these markets since.
