Freight and passenger Irregular Airline founded as Standard Air Cargo in San Diego CA by USAAF flight instructor Shields B Craft. In 1930s Mr Craft set up Craft School of Aeronautics in Yuma Arizona in late 1930s. Airline started to fly discharged or on leave military personnel but soon picked up freight contracts as well. In 1953 changed name to Standard Airways. Airline moved its head office to Burbank where it operated out of Lockheed Air Terminal.
In 1960 airline inaugurated "Pink Cloud Service" between Burbank, San Francisco and Hawaii with one way tickets as low as $79.
