Established in May 1997 as Star Up S.A., with Peruvian and Ukrainian capital. At this time company operated only Antonov aircraft on a charter basis.
In 2004 Star Peru acquired its first Boeing 737 (200 series) and started scheduled service to Pucallpa. Year later it adopted name StarPerú.
StarPerú operated 737-200s until 2010 when the fleet transition to BAe 146s was completed. All but one is in passenger configuration. Airline serves domestic market only.
