Supplemental cargo and passenger charter airline with US military contract founded and controled by Zantop family. Universal Airlines name was adopted after Universal Consolidated Industries took over Zantop Air Transport in 1966. In 1971 UA acquired another supplemental carrier American Flyers Airlines of Fort Worth Texas. Universal Airlines ceased operations in May 1972 following financial difficulties. Some of its assets were acquired by Saturn Airways.
