Atlantic Coast Jet was formed as a division of Atlantic Coast Holdings to operate Delta Connection services in the Northeast. Flights began on August 1, 2000 using Dornier 328JETs. The airline briefly operated a few CRJ200s as well. For financial reasons, it was decided to combine Atlantic Coast Jet with Atlantic Coast Airlines, and the two merged on July 1, 2001.
