Lynx Air began flying on May 5, 1989 with flights from Ft. Lauderdale to Cap Haitien. The airline expanded with flights to the Bahamas out islands, as well as government contract flights to Cuba. In 2008, its FAA operating certificate was revoked for safety reasons. The airline soon resumed operations following the purchase of Florida Coastal Airlines, but again ceased operations the following year. Lynx was purchased by Salsa Airlines of Haiti, but operations wqre never resumed
