Private full service airline founded by Mr. Tariq Chaudhary and group of investors. Operations commenced on June 18th 2004 with domestic service only. In March 2006 airBlue carried one millionth passenger. Airline expanded internationally by serving Dubai (8/05), Abu Dhabi (2008), Muscat and Sharjah from Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore. Airline also serves Manchester (June 1 2007) and Istanbul (SAW) from Islamabad and has become Pakistan's second largest with plans to acquire wide-body jets as well as turboprop regional airliners to provide full airline service in Pakistan in direct competition with state owned PIA.
