note
Vladivostok Avia commenced operations in September 1932. Given the remote location of Vladivostok, Vladivostok Avia had had from its beginning share of technical flights supporting mining, fishing and lumber industries in Russia's far east. In 1948 scheduled service to Moscow was introduced using Ilyushin Il-12 aircraft. In the 1950s first rotary wing aircraft Mil Mi-4 joined the fleet and helicopters have been part of Vladivostok Avia ever since. After the fall of Soviet Union, Vladivostok became independent airline and since 1994 is also publicly traded. The same year Tupolev Tu-154M was introduced enabling airline first international expansion and non-stop flights to Russia's european cities. With the opening of Russia's airspace came international expansion. Airline became member of IATA in 2004. In February 2007, Vladivostok Avia leased its first western built jet, an Airbus A320 leased from ILFC. Vladivostok Avia also became first airline to put Tupolev Tu-204 into service in 2005. Vladivostok Avia's network in 2010 included international destinations Busan, Nigata, Beijing, Harbin, Tianjin, Toyama, Tokyo, Hanoi and Bangkok. Airline also operated seasonal charters to the Red Sea resorts. St Petersburg, Moscow Vnukovo, Sochi, Krasnodar, Yerevan and Baku are served in Russia and former CIS states.
Vladivostok Avia also owned and operated Vladivostok's international airport until 2008.
Vladivostok Avia handles just over 1 million passengers annualy (2009).
