Scheduled passenger airline operating domestic route from Guatemala City to Flores. Flores is a gateway to Tikal archeological site of Mayan empire which is on UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. At its peak, Tikal also served neighboring countries gateways of Cancun, Mexico City, Managua, San Pedro Sula, Belize and Havana. In 1998 Tikal Jets became national airline of Guatemala and a flag carrier.
Company wanted to expand its scheduled operations to other Central American gateways as well as applying for routes to Los Angeles and Miami. Airline was not able to secure permission to expand its service at the time of rapid fuel cost increases.
Airline ceased operations in August 2006.
