First all Cargo airline in the Middle East was formed in 1953. Operations commenced using Avro Yorks on ad-hoc cargo transports from airline's base at Beirut International Airport.
Scheduled operations started in 1959. At that time TMA introduced Douglas DC-4s.
First jet was put in service in 1966 when TMA leased a Boeing 707 from World Airways of USA. In 1971 TMA became first Cargo Airline to have around the world service when its Boeing 707s completed the circle by adding New York-Anchorage-Tokyo leg. In 1976 TMA became first airline in the Middle East to use Boeing 747 aircraft. From 1985 to 1986, due to civil war, TMA had to stop operations.
TMA is member of IATA and holds ISO 9002 quality certification. TMA operates scheduled and charter network streatching from New York to Tokyo, including Europe, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
TMA also provides full overhaul service for Boeing 707 type, except the engines. In 2010 operations were restarted as TMA Cargo.
