National airline of Nepal was founded in 1958 as Royal Nepal Airline Corporation (RNAC) and commenced operations on domestic routes using Douglas DC-3 aircraft. Airline dropped the Royal title from its name after the Nepal ousted its Royal family in 2005. Airline is majority owned by government of Nepal and serves dense domestic network as well as Hong Kong, Delhi, Bombay, Bangalore, Bangkok, Shanghai, Osaka, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Dubai.
However, Nepal Airlines is facing difficult situation in 2009 as the government blocked airline's effort to procure new airplanes due to internal management conflict at the airline.
