Privately held scheduled passenger and cargo airline. Company started operations in 1994 as a charter air taxi service hauling tourist to and from Serengeti National Park, Zanzibar and Ngorongoro Crater from Arusha using piston Cessna 207s. As business grew first turboprops LET L-410 and Cessna 404 joined the fleet. In 1999 first scheduled passenger flights were operated. Kenya Airways acquired 49% stake in the company in 2003 which enabled acquisition of modern ATR turboprops in 2006. In 2009 company carried over half a million passengers becoming the largest airline in Tanzania. Precision Air served Mwanza, Tabora, Musoma, Shinyanga, Kigoma, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Mtwara, Arusha and Dar es Slaam in Tanzania as well as Nairobi, Mombasa and Entebbe abroad. Airline and its ground handling operations employs over 600 people (2010).
