Presidential was originally conceived as a travel club, which would use a 70-seat Boeing 737 on charter flights. As its start-up financing was being arranged, an attractive offer was made by the owner of several ex-Continental A300s, so Presidential changed its game plan to long-haul scheduled services. Flights began on October 2, 1995 on the Long Beach-Houston-Atlanta route, but ended within six months. Flight continued as public charters for an additional two months using AvAtlantic Boeing 727s.
