Established by Alfredo Machado Hernandez, Pedro Vallenilla Echeverria and Martin Marciales as a franchise of TACA Colombia. Taca de Venezuela Air Line. Airline obtained rights to operate Bogotá-Maracaibo-Maiquetía route previously held by TACA Colombia. In the beginning TACA used a pair of twin-engine Beechcraft C-45 that could carry six passengers. These were replaced with DC-3s. Airline was first in Venezuela to use a helicopter when it acquired one in 1949. TACA V was assinged V-C-AZA - YV-C-AZY sequence. Airline operated dense domestic network including dedicated freight flights. By 1952 airline was a subsidiary of LAV.
