note
Domestic airline founded as Lentohuolto in 1950. Name Finnaviation was adopted when company merged with Oy Nordair AB in June 1979. At the same time Finnair acquired the new company with Finnair holding 60% stake. Kar Air, another subsidiary of Finnair and Embraer dealer provided two Embraer EMB-110s to the new company. Finnaviation was to provide feeder service for Finnair and take over domestic routes no longer profitable for Finnair. In 1986 Finnaviation took delivery of SAAB 340 regional airliner in Combi version. During the day SAABs were operated in passenger configuration and at night as a freighter for Finland Post. SAABs replaced EMB-110s used since 1983 in similar fashion.
Finnaviation operated to 11 domestic destinations, Skelleftea and Stockholm in Sweden.
In 1996 Kar Air and Finnaviation were absorbed into Finnair.
